My son is autistic as well, so I can somewhat understand how you would see the similarities. I will say, however, in my experience even high-functioning Autists aren’t usually capable of this level of manipulation, emotionally. There’s obsession with people and things, sure, but not to the extent that you try to manipulate that person’s feelings, and those around them.

This is rubbing me far more like both my own experience with a stalker, and someone I’ve dated in the past that used suicide and other such emotionally scarring things to manipulate my own emotions, and that of those around them in order to force pity and attention.
